Charlottes Best Dog Parks

Moving can be a stressful, chaotic time, and it affects your pets too. If you're pups are anything like mine, they will need to run some nervous energy out and a dog park is the perfect place for them to do that. If you're moving into the Charlotte area, be sure to check out some of the most popular dog parks here;

  • Frazier Dog Park: Located in the heart of Charlotte, Frazier Dog Park offers clean and spacious and separate areas for both small and large dogs. It features plenty of agility equipment and a large pond for cooling off. Frazier Dog Park is located at 1201 W Trade St, Charlotte, NC 28208.

  • Barkingham Dog Park located within Reedy Creek Park: Situated on the edge of Mecklenburg County, The Reedy Creek Dog Park, called Barkingham Park, boasts four fenced in acres, trails, and a pond. It provides agility equipment and a dedicated area for smaller dogs. Half the park is shaded and half is open but this is a popular park and is frequently visited so most of the grass is worn away. I'd suggest bringing some towels and water to clean off Fido before the ride home. Barkingham Dog Park is located at 2900 Rocky River Rd Charlotte, NC 28215 (within Reedy Creek Park).

  • Latta Plantation Dog Park: Located in the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, along the shore of Mountain Island Lake, this spacious park offers trails, trees, and open areas for exploration. It includes a large pond and agility equipment, because it's on the shore of Mountain Island Lake, you'll enjoy beautiful lake views and if you're into bringing your pup with you in a kayak or canoe, there are two launch areas there. Latta Plantation Dog Park is located at 6345 Sample Road, Huntersville, NC.

  • McAlpine Creek Dog Park: As one of the largest dog parks in Charlotte, McAlpine Creek Dog Park features separate areas for small and large dogs, along with trails and trees. It also provides agility equipment and a designated swimming area. McAlpine Creek Dog Park can be visited at 8711 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212

No matter your dog's size or energy level, Charlotte offers a variety of excellent dog parks. Whether you prefer large open spaces or more intimate settings, there's something for every pup to enjoy. So, grab your furry friend and head out to explore one of these fantastic parks for a day of fun and adventure and remember, bring water and a towel just incase Fido finds a mud puddle like mine always seem to do.
